While dog owners love their dogs, most don't love their dog's breath. While many different solutions have been tried through the years, few have taken off. Orabrush hopes to change that with Orapup, a new device that allows dogs to lick their tongues beyond bad breath.

“Soon after we launched Orabrush in 2009, many of our customers began asking when a version would be available for their dogs,” said Jeff Davis, CEO of Orabrush. “The Orapup has been near to the heart of our founder for some time, and was a natural addition to the product line.”

Designed by Orabrush founder and chairman Dr. Robert Wagstaff, the Orapup combines ultra-soft pointed bristles with four in-line scrapers, which collect and remove bacteria from the dog’s tongue. A formula made with all FDA-approved ingredients and developed to help prevent gum disease and reduce tartar is applied to the surface of the Orapup to entice dogs to lick the brush, allowing them to clean their own tongues.

"I am 78 years old, and my friends tell me I'm probably one of the oldest entrepreneurs in America," said Dr. Wagstafff. "At the sunset of my life, I've become obsessed with leaving my mark on the world, but not in the same way a dog leaves his mark on the world. I wanted to do something more helpful and less bodily-function related. So, 10 years ago, when I learned that 80% to 90% of bad breath comes from a dirty tongue, I invented the Orabrush, the tongue cleaner that helps cure bad breath. Soon after launching Orabrush, customers started asking for a doggy Orabrush. Orapup was born."

The Orabrush team spent seven months researching and developing the healthy, edible Orapup with a flavor and consistency that dogs enjoy. After testing various flavors, Wagstaff ended up finding the most success with beef.

The Orapup comes with a tube of flavored gel that is placed on the device to keep your dog licking. The ingredients in the gel are FDA approved. The flavoring also helps fight tartar and has natural enzymes that neutralize the dog’s mouth. This is designed to help fight future bad breath.
