BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Safco Dental Supply Company, one of the nation’s leading suppliers of dental products, announced the appointment of John Fuerst as its new president. Ken Saffir, former Safco president, remains an active part of the second-generation, family-owned business, assuming the role of CEO.
Fuerst’s joining the company as president and Saffir’s transition to CEO represents a carefully planned succession to ensure that Safco customers continue to receive the highest level of service, support, and value that they have come to expect since the company was founded by Saffir’s father, Harold, in 1945. Ken Saffir has presided over Safco’s operations for 38 years and will maintain 100% ownership of the company to sustain its long-term vision.

Prior to joining Safco, Fuerst was president and CEO for Wurth Service Supply, a $100 million operating company of Wurth Group, specializing in the logistics and supply chain industry. He held previous positions as executive vice president and general manager at the company, providing leadership and direction for sales, operations, profitability and growth for the four regions and 40 branches in Wurth’s distribution network. He also had various senior management roles at Continental/Midland, Inc. before joining Wurth.
