Want to "outsmart your dentist?" Want to track your kids' brushing habits after they tell you, "I promise I brushed"? The company Kolibree just announced a new product that they believe will help you do just that. This French startup company introduced the world’s first connected electric toothbrush at the International Consumer Electronics (CES) show in Las Vegas, and it's designed to track and improve a person's dental hygiene.RELATED ARTICLE: Mobile app helps kids learn good oral hygiene habits Kolibree is a company dedicated to innovative solutions to keep people healthy and smart, and its new smart toothbrush seems to fit the bill. Unlike anything else today, Kolibree’s smart toothbrush has a unique technology to analyze brushing habits and display them on a mobile dashboard the user can readily access from their Android or iOS device.

The app can track the brushing scores of multiple people, letting parents compare their kids' dental performance at a glance. Although the Kolibree features switchable heads and a single toothbrush can be used for multiple users, the company would prefer each family member buy their own.

How it works

Kolibree’s connected toothbrush is an advanced and comprehensive solution that ensures the user stays ahead of the curve. Simply download the free mobile app, connect via Bluetooth, and every brushing is recorded. The data about how you brush automatically synchronizes to a smartphone telling you whether you brushed long enough and reached the hard-to-reach but important parts of your teeth and gums.

With the Kolibree connected toothbrush and mobile app, you can take control of your health and teeth with easy-to-understand monitoring and scoring. You can easily share your stats with your dentist and family, or not. Designed for families, the app works with several toothbrushes so the entire family can participate. Kolibree rewards progress and cheers on improvement, allocating points to kids to encourage them to improve their brushing habits.

Kolibree’s smart and connected toothbrush transforms an otherwise boring experience in real-time and offers game-play to keep you motivated. The brushing data will be available via an API to let 3rd party game designers develop new apps and enhance brushing time.

The problem Kolibree solves
Many people don’t realize that poor dental care can also impact the overall care of your health. While Kolibree doesn’t proclaim to solve periodontal disease or suggest it can keep cavities or gingivitis at bay, the better you take care of your teeth, the more likely you can avoid serious problems. Before Kolibree, there hasn’t been an easy and quick way to monitor whether you’re doing an A+ or C- job of brushing. Kolibree solves that problem, making brushing easy and fun.
