I have had a lot of conversations with dentists lately about how they can improve their online presence and improve their local listings on Google. The time and place to address these things is now. It really isn’t too difficult – and it can make all the difference.

Go to Google right now and type in “dentist in” followed by your city and state. Scroll down and look for the A, B, C, D area on the left side. Who are you competing with? How many Google reviews do they have? Do they all have Google+ pages? This is roughly accurate: the more Google reviews you have on your Google Places listing, the higher your website will be.
2. Create your Google+ page
This is another piece that really shouldn’t take too long to complete. Go to the Google+ Business page. Again, follow the steps, verify your information, and add a little content. It is very important to continually add content to this page. For now, add whatever comes to mind! Post a photo of your family. Share articles you’ve read. Get content up.
3. Solicit Google reviews
This is one of the toughest parts of the event. In fact, great companies (Demandforce, SmileReminder) do an incredible job with this. The easiest (and free) way to do this today is by sending your patients an email at the end of the day. Simply say, “Thank you for coming in. It would mean so much to me if you clicked this link and reviewed your experience.”
That is all it takes!
