Roda elected president of Central Arizona Dental Society

Scottsdale dentist to lead society during 2006.

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona--The Central Arizona Dental Society, a component of the Arizona Dental Association, has elected Dr. Rob Roda of Scottsdale as president for 2006.

Dr. Roda maintains a private practice in endodontics in Scottsdale. Born in Paris, France and raised in Stamford, Connecticut and Frankfurt, Germany, Dr. Roda received his dental degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and completed the Advanced Education Program at the Department of Endodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.

He is a frequent lecturer at international dental meetings and a prolific contributor to the dental literature and textbooks, most recently as co-author of a chapter on "Non-surgical retreatment" in Pathways of the Pulp 9th Edition (Mosby/Elsevier 2006: 944-1010).

He has been awarded the C.V. Mosby Book Prize in Microbiology and General Pathology, the Brock Rondeau Award for Greatest Contribution to the Graduating Class at Dalhousie, received several grants for research and education and was selected to receive the Arizona Award for Dentist of the Year from AzDA "for outstanding contributions to the profession of dentistry in Arizona." Dr. Roda also serves the community through events such as the national "Give Kids a Smile Day."

As President of CADS, Dr. Roda will preside over all business conducted by the society's Board of Directors, appoint special committees, designate chairs, serve as a delegate-at-Large to the AzDA House of Delegates and write columns for the association's publication.

Dr. Roda enjoys golf, skiing and family time with spouse Belinda and children Christine, Stephen, and Matthew.
