Researchers report promising plant-made antimicrobial peptide (PMAMP) for topical, low-cost disruption of oral biofilm
Nov. 14, 2016
In the October issue of Biomaterials, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine published findings on a low-cost protein drug that holds promise for caries control. The topical drug utilizes two plant-made antimicrobial peptides (PMAMPs), retrocyclin and protegrin, along with a novel delivery system to control biofilm and quickly neutralize Streptococcus mutans.
