ADA new vice presidents

CHICAGO, Illinois--The American Dental Association has named Jerome Bowman, JD, as managing vice president for administrative services, and Marko Vujicic, PhD, as managing vice president, Health Policy Resource Center in the division of dental practice and professional affairs.

“Mr. Bowman and Dr. Vujicic are welcome additions to the ADA senior management team,” said Kathleen O’Loughlin, DMD, ADA executive director. “We look forward to tapping their knowledge and expertise to help the ADA serve our members and the public as advocates of America’s dental health.”

Bowman is a longtime ADA employee. He previously served as public affairs counsel within the department of state government afairs, where his work focused on the State Public Affairs Program as well as regulatory matters. He also was associate general counsel in the ADA’s division of legal affairs and counsel to the divisions of scientific affairs and government affairs, as well as the council on dental practice.

Prior to joining the ADA, Bowman practiced law, including trial work in commercial and employment litigation, as well as environmental and OSHA regulatory work. Bowman earned a law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in classical languages from Saint Louis University.

Dr. Vujicic comes to the ADA from the World Bank in Washington, D.C. As a senior economist, he directed the global health workforce policy program, which addresses numerous human resources for health challenges in developing countries. Previously, Dr. Vujicic was a health economist with the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was part of a team responsible for policy research and support to ministries of health in developing countries.

Dr. Vujicic is the lead author of Working in Health, a book that examines the effect of fiscal policy on the health workforce in the public sector, as well as several publications in academic journals. He has also worked extensively on broader health systems and health financing issues in Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia and the Caribbean, as well as eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Dr. Vujicic obtained a PhD in economics from the University of British Columbia and master’s in economics from McGill University in Montreal.
