Dr. Trucia Drummond Receives the 2003 Lucy Hobbs Taylor Award
AAWD is proud to announce that the 2003 recipient of the Lucy Hobbs Taylor Award is Dr. Trucia Drummond of Chicago, Ill.
The Lucy Hobbs Taylor Award, the highest honor bestowed on a member of AAWD, is presented in recognition of significant service to dentistry on the basis of achievement in civic, cultural, humanitarian, and academic areas.
Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Drummond was the first woman president of the Illinois State Dental Society. She is a current board member of the Smiles for Success Foundation, has chaired numerous committees for the Chicago Dental Society, and served as treasurer for AAWD. According to Dr. Jane W. Selbe, past president of AAWD and first recipient of the Lucy Hobbs Taylor Award, Trucia is "a truly dedicated woman to organized dentistry and a wonderful role model for young women in dentistry."
