Gloves Off: Handling patient objections to dental assessments

July 25, 2022
Dr. David Rice and Katrina Sanders talk about the two major reasons patients refuse dental assessments and what we can do to turn those objections into opportunities.

Patient objections—they happen, but what can we do about them? Going back to the episode on finding those magic minutes in the dental appointment…think back to dental or dental hygiene school. We had, perhaps, three hours for an appointment, and even then, we likely didn’t get to all our assessments. In clinical practice, we’ve had to whittle that time down to a 10-minute exam with the doctor or a 60-minute hygiene appointment at the most.

Patients who refuse assessments are a legal liability, so in this episode of Gloves Off, we’ll look at two major reasons patients refuse assessments and what we can do to turn those objections into opportunities.

Join us as we take our gloves off and strive to become better!
