KOMET USA provides kits to assist with porcelain veneers, fissures, and caries or ceramic and composite restorations.

ROCK HILL, South Carolina--Dentists are always looking for the right bur for the right case. Whether it's a bur to be used on porcelain veneers, fissures, and caries or ceramic and composite restorations, KOMET USA is currently offering a variety of bur kits to assist the dentist with these procedures.

Kit 4518: Porcelain Veneers Burs
Most porcelain veneers are placed on the central and lateral incisors. KOMET USA's bur kit is the complete kit for achieving proper depth and enamel reduction, margin refinement as well as material removal and polishing. Depth reduction can be achieved by using one of two depth markers (Size 016 [cutting depth 0.3 mm] and Size 021 [cutting depth 0.5 mm]). Two grit diamonds (126 µm and 91 µm [REF 6844.314.014 and 6844.314.016]) allow for the proper leveling of orientation grooves. TC and diamond finishers (25 µm) are included to remove excessive material.

Kit 4520: Fissure/Anatomy Burs
KOMET USA's Fissure/Anatomy bur kit is for the minimally invasive opening of fissures and caries. The kit comes with six tungsten carbide burs: two for the conservative exploration of adult molars; two for ultraconservative exploration and two for exploration of primary teeth and adult premolars. These six carbide burs also have depth marker designed into the cutting blade informing the dentist when they've reached a depth of 1.65 mm. Two carbide finishing instruments (sizes 009 and 014) are also included for occlusal finishing.

Kit 4524: Diamond Finishing/Facial Surface Trimming Burs
KOMET USA's diamond finishing kit provides 7 fine (46 µm) and 7 extra-fine (25 µm) burs that are well suited for proper facial and occlusal surface trimming. These burs are perfect for the contouring and finishing of composite restorations. The burs convex design produces a perfect concave surface, but do not come with a non-cutting tip like the carbide finishing burs. All the burs included in the kit are designed to be used on all occlusal and lingual surfaces.

Kit 4526: Carbide Finishing Burs
The kit contains 14 fine burs with a convex design producing the perfect concave surface, and the non-cutting tip (safe end) is ideal for gingival protection. The carbide finishers are a straight fluted instrument allowing for ideal manipulation providing a smoother cutting process. All the burs included in the kit are designed to be used on all occlusal and lingual surfaces. Red ring finishers are also available in friction grip shorter than short and designed for difficult to reach areas such as second molars surfaces and children with limited opening. This is the perfect kit for the contouring and finishing of composite restorations.
