Thanks to the efforts of entrepreneurs Kaya Bromley and Joseph Dwyer, people can now achieve professional teeth whitening results in the comfort of home. Whiten personal teeth whitening system is the brainchild of Dwyer and Bromley, who began working on the idea over six years ago.

Bromley is very familiar with the dental industry because her father owned a dental equipment and supply company.

“My dad was a successful dental equipment supplier," she explained. "One day he told me that the same LED whitening systems his dentist clients used were also being ordered by salons and spas. I thought hey, if the process didnʼt require a dentist, maybe there was a way to make it convenient and affordable for everyone.”

Bromley and Dwyer improved upon existing technology and designed an affordable retail product that is pain-free, hands-free, and produces professional results in 10-minute sessions any time of day in any location, for less than the cost of in-office teeth whitening, which runs $300 to $700 for a single treatment in a dental office.

A Whiten kit is $199 and includes one luminator base, one USB charger, one mouthpiece with case, 12 single-treatment gel tubes, and one travel bag.

"It's as easy as it looks," Bromley said. "Simply attach the mouthpiece on the luminator base, apply the gel evenly in the upper and lower mouthpiece grooves, and bite into the mouthpiece and press the light." Three to five treatments are recommended for the first week, then regular touch ups as needed.

Whiten's patented design and technology did not happen overnight. The system was perfected through years of rigorous development and testing with the expertise of business partner Joe Winget of Valtec Company in Imlay City, Michigan. Winget decided to diversify from Valtec's sweet spot, which is plastic injection molding for the automobile industry.

Whiten is manufactured in Michigan, which helps the economy of the state slammed by the slowdown in the auto industry. Creating jobs makes the Whiten creators proud.

As the Whiten website states, "In a world that’s becoming increasingly divided on just about everything, there still remains the one thing that we can all agree on: Smiling is good. And the more smiles, the better."
