Eight great new products launched at the 2013 California Dental Association Spring Session
After walking the exhibit floor at the California Dental Association's spring session, here are some of the products introduced in Anaheim that caught my eye.
Practice Optimizer Prime from Sikka Software Corporation -- From the folks who offer a free dental fee analyzer for your practice comes Practice Optimizer Prime (PO Prime), an upgraded and simplified version of Practice Optimizer that includes a concierge service with a personal Business Intelligence Software Advisor. The upgraded software and service adapts to your practice's key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting needs. With a simplified and intuitive interface with an easy-to-use menu to access reports, you can customize reports to truly optimize and grow your practice. CS Solutions from Carestream -- This line of products was officially introduced to the American dental market in Anaheim, but we saw it first at the IDS meeting in Cologne, Germany. Next-generation graphics and referral cards from Viva -- When I was first introduced to Viva at the AADOM meeting in September, I was impressed. Now the company has made the product even more attractive with bolder colors and new graphics. The Viva marketing system provides dental practices a streamlined way to improve patient acquisition, retention, reactivation, and treatment plan acceptance. Using a custom designed patient referral card, internal tracking software, and innovative technology that communicates with smartphones, the Viva system is intended to take the guesswork out of marketing for dental practices everywhere. NOMAD Pro 2 from Aribex -- The Pro 2 will replace the Pro in the U.S., a popular intraoral X-ray device. According to Aribex, the Pro 2 is more durable and reliable. While at CDA, we asked Mike Heyn, sales and marketing director for Aribex, to give us a tour of the NOMAD Pro 2, and you can watch the short video introduction by clicking here. Sof-Lex Spiral Finishing and Polishing Wheels from 3M ESPE (pictured at top) -- Here's a new way to put the final natural-looking gloss on restorations. With an innovative spiral shape that adapts to all tooth surfaces, Sof-Lex dental finishing and polishing wheels give dentists a versatile and simple alternative to traditional points, cups, discs, and brushes. These new wheels are designed with flexible spiral “fingers” that conform to convex and concave surfaces as they move across the restoration, so there is no need to switch shapes during the procedure to fit various contours. Sonicare FlexCare Platinum from Philips -- This product was officially introduced to the American dental market in Anaheim, but we saw it first at the IDS meeting in Cologne, Germany. Peak Universal Bond in bottle dispenser from Ultradent -- While it may not be exactly a new product, it's nice to see the proven self-etch and total-etch adhesive now available in a bottle delivery option. Peak Universal Bond is a 7.5% filled light-cured resin ideal for all bonding procedures, both direct and indirect. It provides optimal bond strengths and works with composite, metal, zirconia, porcelain repair, and post and core procedures. For more information, check out www.ultradent.com.
OnTraQ BIOlogical Monitoring System from HealthFirst -- This turnkey system is designed to help protect practices from unintentional noncompliance. Automated e-mail and text reminder notifications are sent to team members to help keep practices on top of their scheduling testing, then stores autoclave and biological spore test results to help keep practice owners, patients, and even inspectors happy. With this system, you'll know that the task has been completed, carried out correctly, and archived for your records. For more information, check out www.healthfirst.com.
