Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz said she admires those who use inspiration and ingenuity to solve a problem. Her latest video discussion is about a product that’s very timely for what is happening in dentistry right now. Aurelia Byrne, RDH, owner of A~flexX Assist Arm, talks about her invention and her inspiration.
The first product from A~flexX Assist Arm was created in 2016 for low volume suction. A~flexX is an ergonomic company that offers hands-free dental devices, all based on proper positioning while working on a patient. Today they also lend themselves nicely to controlling aerosols. Byrne explains that she repeatedly struggled with some of her equipment as a dental hygienist, and she thought there must be a solution that could help her, initially to hold the saliva ejector in place.
As the company established itself, they knew they needed to develop high volume evacuator assistance as well. The equipment has become very popular in dental practices throughout the country. Find out why, and how it can help you.
