BURNABY, British Columbia--LED Dental has released the VELscope Vx Camera System to complement the VELscope Vx.
The VELscope system helps doctors detect and document abnormal mucosal tissue in a matter of minutes.
After shining the VELscope’s blue light into the patient’s mouth as part of an annual exam, doctors can document any mucosal abnormalities with the new camera system and share that information with an oral surgeon for further evaluation and biopsy, if necessary.
The VELscope system is a rinse-free cancer screening system. Highlights of the new camera system include:
* 12+ megapixel Canon digital camera
* Vx adaptor bracket for quick connection to the Vx handpiece
* Memory card
* Battery pack and charger
* USB and AV cable
* Quick reference camera guide and CD-ROM
“In the dental industry, we all know that early detection is the key to fighting oral cancer,” said Nick Efthimiadis, vice president of global sales and marketing for LED Dental.
“VELscope Vx not only helps detect mucosal abnormalities, but with the addition of this new camera system, dentists are enabled to quickly and easily take high quality fluorescence and white light pictures as photo-documentation for their own records and to facilitate communication with specialists when a referral may be necessary.”
