Boost your DentistryIQ: The implant that addresses peri-implantitis
Ole Jensen, DDS, oral surgeon and founder of Ditron Dental USA, wanted to create a cutting-edge doctor-driven implant company designed to better serve both dentists and patients. Who better to do this than someone who works regularly with implants?
Pamela Maragliano-Muniz, DMD, asks Dr. Jensen what sort of problems he was having with the implants most dentists are using? His answer? Peri-implantitis. He says that 8%–10% of implants develop peri-implantitis, which is “a pretty condemning thing.” In some practices the peri-implantitis rates are as high as 20%. He acknowledges that’s a problem, and one of the major reasons he became involved in this new company.
Dr. Jensen started his journey by looking for a company that made the best precision parts. He found one in Ditron Precision, which makes high-precision components for the aerospace, automotive, and dental industries. Dr. Jensen believes they make the most accurate machine parts on the world and the most accurate, well-fitting dental implant. From there, Ditron Dental USA was founded.
Drs. Jensen and Maragliano-Muniz discuss what Ditron Dental offers, what sets it apart, how it contains costs, and what the company’s products can do to benefit your dental practice.
