Institute of Dental Ergonomics to sponsor course in Anaheim
Numerous studies have shown that 65 to 75 percent of dentists and hygienists suffer the pain and discomfort of musculoskeletal disorders. The Institute of Dental Ergonomics (IDE) is sponsoring a course presented by Dr. Robert C. MacDonald, DDS, entitled "The Path to Peak Performance." This course will offer a solution to the physical rigors of dentistry.
Through a hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to minimize postural and repetitive stress that can occur in the daily practice of dentistry. Using mannequin heads, attendees will be shown proper o'clock positioning around the patient's head, patient head rotation and angulation, finger grips/rests, direct and reflective views and more. Any practitioner suffering from musculoskeletal disorders, pain, repetitive stress injuries or any other health problems associated with working out of balance should consider taking this course. CE credit is available.
This workshop will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif. For more information, or to register, call (800) 831-3222 ext. 1055.
