MIDDLETOWN — One 15-year-old Middletown boy will smile brighter because of the Middletown Community Foundation.
When the boy was seen by Dr. Robert C. Merkel, a dentist at the Middletown Community Health Center, it was his first visit to a dentist. His teeth were unsalvageable and had to be extracted.
Low income children like him will have greater access to dental care later this year after the Middletown Community Foundation announced $50,000 in grants to support the Middletown Community Health Center, part of more than $135,000 in funding approved for local charities in the quarter.
