University of Illinois at Chicago offers Thursday evening lectures
The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and its Office of Continuing Education are offering a new series of Thursday evening lectures, the "Alumni Connection" series, open to all dentists. All speakers are alumni of the College.
The installments of the series are scheduled to meet one Thursday evening per month, with a 7 p.m. lecture preceded by a 5:30 dinner and open bar. By adding a social element, the program's hosts hope to promote networking among alumni, other dentists, faculty, and students.
Upcoming lectures are:
"Technology Update 2004: Do You Know Where Your Practice Is?," by Drs. Barry Freydberg and Claudio Levato, Nov. 18, 2004;
"A Partial Course of Partial Dentures," by Dr. M. Nader Sharifi, Jan. 13, 2005;
"Implants and Periodontics," by Dr. Frank Maggio, Feb. 3, 2005;
"Creating Natural Esthetics with Porcelain Veneers" by Dr. Kevin C. Kopp, '85, March 10, 2005;
"Managing Expectations and Expectorations: Creating a Successful Life In and Out of Dentistry," by Dr. Bruce E. Bloom, '83, April 21, 2005;
"Laser Dentistry," by Dr. Dennis Pietrini, '70, May 19, 2005; and
"Uses of the Dental Operating Microscope," by Dr. Scott Bentkover, '93, June 16, 2005.
Cost of individual programs including dinner, lecture, and validated campus parking is $45 per session or $265 for all seven programs. More information is available from Joyce Burger, Director of Continuing Education, (312) 996-2604, or log on to http://dentistry.uic.edu/conted/html.
