Dr. Christensen said he does not prefer to use a stock tray. However, he admits that the Stock Tray by Dr. Joe Massad is one of the better ones out there, and can work quite well. Dr. Christensen prefers to use casts to use a custom tray, specifically a Light-Cured Tray by Dentsply Triad, primarily because it's one of the only ones out there.
