New team promotions, staff hires announced

New staff will help provide services to academy's more than 35,000 general dentist members.

CHICAGO--The Academy of General Dentistry has announced staffing promotions as well as additions designed to enhance the quality of the services the academy provides to more than 35,000 general dentist members.

"We are excited to have these individuals join our team and bring their knowledge and experience to help further the work of our organization to advance the value and excellence in general dentistry," said Christie Tarantino, CAE, AGD's executive director.

"In addition, we are always pleased when we can reward staff members for
their hard work and acknowledge their contributions to the AGD," said
Tarantino. "They, along with our newest team members, will help us continue
to enhance the services we provide to our members and to strengthen our
position in the organized dentistry marketplace."

Glori Bond, Program Specialist, PACE
The AGD recently hired Bond as a Program Specialist, in the Education
Department. In her new position, Bond will serve as the primary liaison to all constituent approval representatives. She will also assist the PACE Coordinator with the running of constituent reports, sending out various approval notices and the review of applications. The Program Approval for Continuing Education was created in 1988 to assist members of the Academy and the dental profession in identifying and participating in quality continuing dental education. Bond will also work with Member Services to ensure that PACE providers are adhering to standards and assist with organization activities and special projects as directed.

Before starting at the AGD, Bond worked for Barnes & Noble as a Buyer. In that position, she was responsible for purchasing and designing the clothing products as well as the general merchandise. She was also in charge of redesigning floor plans and training new hires.

Bridget McEvers, Coordinator, Membership Benefits
McEvers recently joined the AGD as the Membership Benefits Coordinator, a
position in which she will promote, develop and coordinate member benefit
programs and services. She will also serve as primary contact regarding new
and existing benefit programs and services.

Prior to the AGD, McEvers worked at ABN Amro N.V., where she served as
Global Trade Analyst. In that position, she managed client portfolios for letters of credit to determine accurate and legitimate documentation was in place before the client's goods were internationally traded.

Angela K. McKay, Director, Constituent Services
The AGD recently hired McKay as the Constituent Services Director. McKay
will manage all aspects of constituent services, programs and communications
to facilitate a strong relationship between the headquarters office and
constituents. She will also serve as the primary contact for constituent
volunteer leaders, including regional directors, constituent presidents, and
executive directors. In addition, McKay will work closely with other departments to ensure the AGD programs are being properly promoted and supported on the local level.

Prior to the AGD, McKay worked at the Professional Convention Management
Association as the Senior Manager, Member Relations. In that position, she served as the staff liaison to headquarters Chapter Leadership Council and chapter leaders. McKay also developed leadership training workshops for volunteer leaders and members, and managed the Chapter Rep Service rogram, including the supervision of Chapter Representatives. She also oversaw student membership's chapter, recruitment, retention, and scholarship activities.

David Mendoza, CE Team Leader
Mendoza was recently promoted to serve as the Continuing Education Team
Leader. He is responsible for managing and providing quality clerical and data entry in processing member continuing education credits to their transcripts. Mendoza will also develop and demonstrate an overall knowledge of the AGD's CE entry process, properly documenting CE entry submissions, edits and corrections specifically related to CE entry policy. He provides support in the development and production of reports and serves as contact for data processing or reporting issues. In addition, Mendoza also provides frontline assistance for all the AGD related inquiries, requests, and special projects.

Chuck Pennscott, Director, Sales & Sponsorship
The AGD recently hired Pennscott as the Sales & Sponsorship Director. In
this position, Pennscott is responsible for the development, sale, and
implementation of sponsorship opportunities for the AGD Annual Meeting and
Exhibits, the Leadership Summit/Leadership Conference, public outreach/education, and other general sponsorships. Additionally, he oversees the day-to-day sales and marketing efforts for the publications AGD Impact and General Dentistry, the AGD Annual Meeting & Exhibits Registration Brochure and Annual Meeting Program, and the AGD Web site.

Pennscott joins the AGD from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating,
and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc., where he served as the Manager, Advertising Sales. In that position, he managed eleven independent sales reps and developed, coordinated, and tracked the sales for the Society's monthly publication, ASHRAE Journal, the Web site, and e-newsletters. Pennscott also wrote monthly promotional copy, media kit copy and design, and other sales related materials. Pennscott is a graduate of Clemons State University where he received his bachelor's degree in political science and he also holds a master's degree in political science from Georgia State University.

Matt Schroeder, CE Entry Representative
Schroeder recently joined the AGD to serve as a CE Entry Representative. In
his new position he will provide quality clerical and data entry support in
processing member continuing education credits. He is also responsible for
developing and demonstrating an overall knowledge of the AGD's CE entry
process, properly documenting CE entry submissions, edits and corrections
specifically related to the CE entry policy. Schroeder will also provide support in the development and production of reports and serve as contact for routine data processing or reporting issues. Additionally, he provides frontline assistance for all the AGD related inquiries, requests, and special projects, as directed by the CE Team Leader and Administration.

Stefanie Schroeder, Coordinator, Public Relations
Schroeder was recently promoted to Coordinator of Public Relations. In her new position, she will work independently to oversee and build the AGD Public Information Officer (PIO) network to increase constituent support of the strategic plan and objectives. Schroeder also implements strategies so the public and the profession recognize the AGD and its members' commitment to excellence. Additionally, she creates budgets for the PIO program, sales
material, toll-free directory and some media relations programs.

Michelle Singleton, CE Entry Representative
Singleton was recently promoted to CE Entry Representative. In this position, she will provide quality clerical and data entry support in processing member continuing education credits. She is also responsible for developing and demonstrating an overall knowledge of the AGD's CE entry process, properly documenting CE entry submissions, edits and corrections specifically related to the CE entry policy. Joshauna Walker, Specialist, Media Relations
The AGD recently hired Walker to serve as the Media Relations Specialist. In her new position, Walker will create, produce, distribute and monitor media relations material that will support public relations programs which include national and local programs as well as annual meeting programs. She will also provide media relations, public relations and administrative support and assist with organization activities and special projects as directed.

Prior to starting at the AGD, Walker worked at TC Public Relations, where she was a Public Relations Specialist. In that position, she was responsible for managing media campaigns and creating public relations materials for special projects and programs.

Adrienne Williams, Coordinator, Web Content
Williams recently joined the AGD as the Web Content Coordinator. In this
position, she is responsible for collaborating, coordinating, updating and
maintaining the AGD Web site daily, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and a
high-quality Web experience for the AGD customers. Williams will also
coordinate all e-communications with the AGD staff and ensure that these
products and services are produced accurately, and in a timely and efficient
manner.

Liza Visser, Senior Meeting Planner
The AGD recently hired Visser to serve as the Senior Meeting Planner, a position in which she will assist in the planning, organization and coordination of specific areas of the Annual Meeting & Exhibits. This includes vendor negotiations, logistical and on-site management of meetings. Additionally, Visser is responsible for the logistical arrangements for the Leadership Conference, Council/Committee/Task Force Meetings Board of Trustee Meetings, and other Allied meetings.

Prior to joining the AGD, Visser worked for the American Society of Safety
Engineers where she served as the Conferences and Meetings Coordinator. In
that position, she managed all meeting logistics including audio-visual, room set-up, catering, transportation, and hotel arrangements. She also organized annual conference programming and logistics including speakers, vendors, conference planning committee, transportation, housing, shipping, tours, and exposition. Visser also researched and contracted hotels, airports, restaurants and attractions for conferences and seminars.
