A New Jersey dentist is happy to say that no patients have cancelled appointments after learning that a man by the same name attempted to murder his girlfriend last week.
Anthony Vocaturo, a cosmetic dentist currently practicing in Bayonne, N.J., awoke in the middle of the night last Thursday from friends and family members calling him to ask if he had anything to do with the Anthony Vocaturo who had broken into his ex-girlfriend’s Roseland, N.J. condominium in an attempt to murder her. The Florida Vocaturo was charged last week with attempted murder, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, burglary, and weapons charges, according to NJ.com.
The following day, this was posted on the Facebook page of Dr. Vocaturo’s practice, where he is a partner with Dr. Donald Lapine.
“The say all publicity is good publicity! But sharing the same name with an accused murderer is certainly not good for business! LOL! Our phone has been ringing off the hook the last day from family, friends and patients after the news broke about another Anthony Vocaturo who also lives in NJ and has been charged with attempted murder. We just want to clear the air and inform ALL of you that it's NOT Dr. Anthony J. Vocaturo! :)
Have a wonderful weekend! xoxoxo”
Luckily, Dr. Vocaturo has been able to inform his patients that it wasn’t he who was arrested. He told NJ.com, “I’ve just been coming into work and telling patients and friends that it wasn’t me. It’s been a chuckle.”
It’s times like this that it’s good to have a Facebook page for your practice.
