Their new Activity 850 model offers excellent value for the cost as a fully automated scanner in dental laboratories and practices. Its larger sibling, the Activity 880, is appropriate for those dental technicians wanting to scan articulated models using a variety of scan fixators, such as those from the Artex®, SAM® or Adesso Split® systems. A complete workflow using a virtual articulator, and in combination with the CAD software dentCreate!®, is now a reality.
smart optics high-precision scanners are surprisingly easy to operate and, at IDS 2011, offer a glimpse of the striped projection scanners of the future. Developed in collaboration with clinics and dental laboratories, the suitability of the scanners for daily use was emphasized in their design. The open smart optics scanning solution grants maximum flexibility to the cost-conscious dentist or dental technician as well as ensuring access to the widest variety of production methods, thereby maintaining the long-term value of the investment. The complete, automated scanning of an individual stump is carried out in less than a minute, while that of a complete is finished in only three minutes (excluding matching) — and all in uniquely-exquisite detail. Interested trade fair visitors are welcome to judge for themselves at the smart optics stand, or with their own scanners, using the new fine groove-patterned MessTestSet measurement test system from smart optics. The user-friendly software dentCreate!® allows even beginners to produce results quickly with the help of its innovative interface. It is used to create STL model files that can be subsequently processed in all popular CAD/CAM solutions. The Activity software now runs on Windows 7® and all 64-bit variants of Windows® while the traditional modules are available as before: “Abutment,” “Virtual Articulator,” and “Multi-Die,” which allows for the digital design of complex restorations. New is the “TweedModel” module for creating (STL) jaw cast models for 3-D printing. None of the modules involve periodic licensing or maintenance costs of any kind. All of the new scanners can be tested at the smart optics booth in Hall 4.2, Stand L 101 where a team of professionals would be glad to demonstrate the scanners’ capabilities and answer questions.smart optics scanners are produced exclusively in Germany.
