Service named one of most innovative in dental lab industry
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--Sirona Dental Systems' infiniDent, an Internet-based service offered for inLab and inEos users, has been named one of 2006's most innovative products for the dental laboratory industry by the Journal of Dental Technology.
Sirona inLab's infiniDent is included in the October 2006 WOW! issue of JDT, which features 10 innovative products that are transforming the dental technology profession.
For the third annual WOW! issue, the Journal of Dental Technology gathered an independent panel of technicians "obsessed with innovation" to help identify the most groundbreaking products available to dental technicians. Determining factors for this year's list were based on products that exemplify quality and substantially saved time and money.
"Sirona is extremely pleased that our efforts for CAD/CAM technology have been highlighted by JDT and the laboratory industry for the second year in a row," remarked Norbert Ulmer, marketing and sales manager for Sirona's laboratory division.
"For our infiniDent to be viewed as outstanding among laboratory technicians, who actually use our product in their everyday work, is the highest compliment."
Some of the winning features highlighted in the publication were infiniDent's ease of use, time savings, and increased accuracy:
* The new technology improves quality by freeing up technicians' time to work on more labor-intensive work.
* More efficient use of labor hours put infiniDent on the winning list for its time-saving aspects. With Sirona's infiniDent service, there is no need to pour a model of the case.
* The money-saving aspect was detailed by the fact that technicians are able to save money by eliminating the need for ancillary equipment such as stone and dowel pins. Also, shipping costs are lowered due to the electronic transfer of information.
"The whole concept of digital information passing between doctors, laboratories, and milling centers (not physical materials) is the WOW! factor of infiniDent," remarked the WOW! panel of judges.
