Dentrix Dental Systems and Ameritas partner to offer dentists the ability to send electronic attachments

Effective immediately, dental offices may include digital or scanned electronic attachments, such as X-rays, perio charts, cosmetic presentations, or other images with their claims.

A recent agreement between Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc. and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp.'s Group Division will offer dental offices the ability to electronically send attachments with insurance claims when sent within the DENTRIX® practice management system.

Effective immediately, dental offices may include digital or scanned electronic attachments, such as X-rays, perio charts, cosmetic presentations, or other images with their claims. This will expedite the electronic claims process by eliminating payment delays and providing payors with immediate claims information. It also will enable some dental offices to use high-tech tools for digital X-rays and photos, or to create cosmetic presentations.

"This partnership will help improve service for providers and carriers," said Travis Smith, Dentrix Manager of Payor Relations. "More than 20,000 dentists in the United States use the Dentrix practice management system and including attachments with electronic claims creates a more simplified, effective claims processing method for these Dentrix users. We are excited to offer this service to Ameritas dentists."

Ameritas Group also expects this partnership with Dentrix to improve efficiency and decrease expenses for dental practitioners.

"Ameritas Group is very excited to partner with Dentrix, a leader in dental practice management solutions, to provide these additional services," said Ken VanCleave, Senior Vice President-Group Division. "Electronic claim and attachment submission is a win-win for all parties involved, and we look forward to this close collaboration with Dentrix to help improve oral healthcare services to our providers and customers."
