Discus Dental granted FDA approval for dual-action sensitivity relief product
CULVER CITY, California--Discus Dental, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium professional and consumer dental products, has announced that the company has received FDA approval to sell its Relief ACP Oral Care Gel.
Relief ACP is the only FDA approved dual-action sensitivity relief product developed as an effective treatment for patients who suffer from tooth sensitivity caused by conditions such as gum recession, root exposure, whitening or post root-planing.
Relief ACP's dual-action formula combines the speed of chemical sensitivity relief from potassium nitrate with the profound, long-term relief of amorphous calcium phosphate, which precipitates hydroxyapitite, occluding the dentin tubules.
This precipitation from ACP and fluoride also allows for remineralization by creating a new coating of hydroxyapatite and fluoroapitite over the original tooth surface, naturally filling surface defects of the tooth structure.
"We strive to combine innovation and science to provide the best complete oral care regimen for patients," said Robert Hayman, president & CEO, Discus Dental. "With this approval from the FDA, we are now ready to market what we believe to be the best and most comprehensive treatment for tooth sensitivity."
