Academy of Laser Dentistry announces 2010 laser certification enrollment
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida--The Academy of Laser Dentistry Certification Program will be held on two preconference days, April 13-14, 2010, at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, Fla.
The program will be in conjunction with ALD 2010, the Academy of Laser Dentistry's Annual 17th Annual Conference and Exhibition, which will be conducted April 14-17.
The Academy of Laser Dentistry's professional approach to lasers in dentistry offers an opportunity to learn, see, and touch the latest high-tech laser devices and wavelengths on the market. This triple sensory experience gives participants an intimate setting to gain the knowledge needed to discover which wavelength and device are most suitable to their practices. All certification courses are presented by ALD certified educators.
The one-day introductory hands-on course April 13 will help participants recognize the wavelength and device most suitable to their practice needs. This hands-on opportunity is instructed by academicians engaged in dental laser research, education and clinical practice. Gain basic understanding of laser technology, dental laser wavelengths, devices and the safe and effective use for patient care.
The two-day standard proficiency certification program April 13-14 includes lecture, hands-on, a 75-question multiple choice online examination and clinical proficiency simulation examination. This level defines the standard of care for the dental professional, according to the Curriculum Guidelines and Standards for Dental Laser Education.
The prerequsite for this course is an introductory level course that is available at the ALD's Virtual Campus.
Advanced proficiency represents advanced knowledge and clinical experience with the dental laser. Candidates for advanced level recognition must demonstrate knowledge of all laser wavelengths via a comprehensive online written examination, advanced clinical proficiency via a clinical simulation using the dental laser of their choice and, must also prepare five clinical case studies and be prepared to present a minimum of two of them.
For a full schedule, examination applications, prerequisites for application and preparatory guidelines and conference information or to begin the advanced proficiency process by taking the online tutorial and exam, register at the ALD Virtual Campus at Academy of Laser Dentistry.
ALD is an ADA CERP recognized provider and an AGD accepted national sponsor (FAGD/MAGD credit).
