VOORHEES, New Jersey--Dr. Jack Piermatti, a prosthodontist and managing director of Dental Arts of South Jersey, has been named "South Jersey's Best Dentist of 2008" by the Courier-Post newspaper of Cherry Hill, N.J.
This marks the seventh time he has earned the recognition in the past 15 years.
The selection, part of the Courier-Post Readers' Choice 2008 Awards, was made by the newspaper's 80,000-plus readers in balloting that took place in February. The results, which covered other professions and industries, were to be published May 4 by the paper.
Piermatti, who also has been named "One of South Jersey's Best Dentists" by the newspaper three times in prior years, specializes in prosthodontics, focusing on dental implants, reconstructive dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.
He has performed more than 11,000 dental implants during his 28-year-career and speaks extensively throughout the country on the subjects of implant surgery, prosthodontics and the use of CAD-CAM technology in implant treatment.
"There are so many fine dentists in South Jersey, many of whom I've had the pleasure to consult with, so this recognition is just an incredible honor," said Piermatti. "And of course that honor is shared with all the dentists, hygienists and support staff at Dental Arts."
Piermatti is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, American Board of Oral Implantology, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has also been awarded fellowship in the American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Additionally, he maintains membership in the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and Southern Dental Society.
Piermatti instructs other prosthodontists several times a year at the New Jersey Center for Implant Dentistry and is on the faculty of University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
