A full-day, hands-on introductory course on Lasers in Dentistry held recently at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry provided 65 attendees with exceptional education.
The collaborative approach allowed the University to conduct a multi-wavelength course following the Academy of Laser Dentistry's focus on balanced dental laser education. The Academy of Laser Dentistry welcomes the opportunity to team with dental schools and national associations to continue this successful educational program. The course was made possible by a gift from the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

course through the University's Continuing Ed Department with Gail
Siminovsky, CAE, Executive Director of the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Fifteen (15) laser devices were on hand from Biolase, Hoya Conbio, Incisive,
Lares Research and Opusdent, all corporate members of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, who participated by sending devices and technicians to set up and provide assistance.

Through three hours of hands-on experience, attendees became familiar with various lasers used in dentistry including CO2, Diode, Er:YAG, Er,Cr:YSGG, Nd:YAG laser wavelengths. During three lecture hours participants learned clinical indications for soft and hard tissue applications and how to
determine which lasers may be appropriate for their practice.
