Clinic and Research Day on Feb. 10 will feature a keynote lecture from Robert J. Genco, DDS, PhD, who is the vice provost and director of science, technology transfer and economic outreach (STOR) at the State University of Buffalo.

The event, which will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will be followed by a reception.

"There will be more than 90 poster presentations by students and a mini-symposium showcasing a variety of clinical and research projects," said Dr. Christine Wu, associate dean for research. "There also will be awards given, dental product exhibits, and events planned just for fun, such as games and a wax-carving competition."

At the reception, there will be an award presentation for best papers in a variety of categories including basic and clinical sciences.

"We anticipate an increase in research activity because many more students, including predocs and postgrads, will be participating this year," Dr. Wu noted.

Continuing education attendance credit will be awarded for selected presentations but may not be applicable to completion of relicensure requirements in Illinois or other state jurisdictions.
