Darby Dental marks return to tradeshows with anniversary celebration at the GNYDM

Dec. 9, 2013

Darby Dental Supply, LLC, the largest all-telesales national distributor of dental merchandise, marked two very special milestones at this year’s Greater New York Dental Meeting. Surrounded by friends and colleagues, the company celebrated its return to the trade show circuit as well as its 65th year in business with a newly-designed exhibit booth and an off-site cocktail reception.

After making news in 2011 by removing its presence from dental trade show meetings, Darby once again entered the trade show arena by exhibiting at this year’s Greater New York Dental Meeting. The company unveiled a new exhibit booth specially designed for a more inviting feel. “The design was very spacious and allowed our employees to have more comfortable interactions with our customers,” remarked Liz Meyers, Darby’s Vice President of Marketing and Purchasing. “We wanted our space to convey a warm and more open environment to reflect the path we are on in building up our existing relationships, as well as emphasizing an open door for prospective business partners.”

Darby’s recent change in leadership has been a motivating factor in the company’s new approach to business, including the decision to return to the tradeshow floor. “Our current President Mike Caputo has always believed that the best way to connect with customers and business associates is face-to-face,” continued Meyers. “Darby’s business model is based on telesales, so the shows are an ideal opportunity to actually meet our customers. There are many people at Darby who have always believed in the significance of tradeshows and we are very excited to start attending again. It’s a great opportunity for the dental community to reunite, share current information and trends, and just have fun!”

The company also took advantage of its tradeshow return by hosting an off-site cocktail reception in honor of its 65th anniversary. Friends, vending partners, and representatives of the dental media attended the small celebration. Remarked Meyers, “We were simply overwhelmed by the support we received at this year’s Greater New York meeting. We really felt like the industry was welcoming us back with open arms. We’re set for another 65 years of successful relationships with both customers and business partners.”

Throughout 2013, Darby marked its 65th year in business with several developments on both the East and West coasts, including a job fair that provided residents with over 55 job openings at its Long Island operation, and an expansion of both working hours and staff at its Chandler, Arizona telesales facility, propelling its total customer service personnel staff to over 50 employees. In addition, the company plans on offering even more Darby-branded products in the near future with a number of private label launches expected to take place in early 2014.
