Cathy Jameson of Jameson Management, Inc., was named a finalist in both the Best Entrepreneur category and the Lifetime Entrepreneurial Achievement category in The 2005 Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs.
The Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, www.stevieawards/women, is an international awards competition recognizing the accomplishments of women executives and business owners.
The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards, hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post (April 27, 2005).
More than 470 entries were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories. Jameson, president and CEO of dental consulting firm, Jameson Management, Inc., was named as a finalist in not only one category but two!
Jameson and her team of consultants lecture and consult in 19 countries and have offices in New York and the United Kingdom, in addition to their two Oklahoma offices.
Jameson has changed thousands of lives through mentorship, speaking, consulting, books, CDs, DVDs and other products, all with one source: her creative, energetic, entrepreneurial spirit driven by a passion for her industry, a thirst for knowledge and a sincere desire to encourage others and inspire them to new heights of success, according to JMI Public Relations Director Laurie Taylor.
"The winners and finalists in the 2005 Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs comprise the most dynamic women in business today. These executives and entrepreneurs have accomplished innovative and extraordinary things while building their businesses and serving their communities," said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards. "We congratulate all of them on their achievement."
"I was surprised my team had taken time out from their already full schedules to nominate me, humbled by the notion of their respect, and thrilled to receive such a great honor," said Jameson.
Jameson worked with her husband in his general dental practice and started the dental consulting firm now boasting premier industry status in one end of her living room.
This year alone, she not only officially opened a UK office, but was honored as a master, diva and giant of dentistry. Clients accessing Jameson Management, Inc., services in 2005 received average increases of 30%.
"But would you believe this famed dental consultant and lecturer has also been well known as a quarter horse and cattle rancher, a vocal Broadway style performer and a classical pianist? She defines 'entrepreneur'" in every way and has for her lifetime, as every possible talent she's been blessed with is shared with others," said Taylor.
Not only did she run a ranch, but she coordinated every aspect of national sales while breeding, raising, training and showing award winning horses of her own.
For example, in the mid 1980s with a ranch of about 100 mares and 100 longhorn cattle, she raised the Horse of the Year for the State of Oklahoma; served as co-director of the Oklahoma Junior Quarter Horse Association; was honored as the only Oklahoma ranch to be featured in the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Heritage Sale for representation; had the top selling horse for that association for several years; managed four top stallions; and was featured in national ads because of the ranch's notoriety.
She also performed in musicals like "Annie Get Your Gun" for Oklahoma City's Lyric Theater and even recorded a demo in Nashville for Dominican Records. She studied classical piano for 12 years and taught lessons for many years.
She taught elementary school and values education, immensely. She earned a Ph.D. in organizational psychology after focusing her studies on effective, stress controlled management. She is now currently pursuing a second doctorate.
As a Certified Effectiveness Trainer, Cathy integrates her academic background and her knowledge of communication into the management of dental teams and practices. She is also an adjunct faculty member of the OU College of Dentistry and NYU College of Dentistry.
As a sales representative in the dental industry, Cathy was first in sales for four years straight and her clients were always the top producers. She worked in her husband's dental practice and helped it reach a status of worldwide praise.
She grew Jameson Management from a one room organization to an international firm now employing nearly 40 people, changing thousands of lives. Now she's exercising her entrepreneurial spirit once again as she provides her speaking services to more general audiences with powerful motivational messages.
This, and her continued product development with a variety of other leadership, communication and motivational speeches and workshops, are just the latest flavors in Cathy's lifelong entrepreneurial success!
