The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology has announced that Dr. Stanley Malamed, world renowned speaker on dental anesthesiology, will present at the ADSA Anesthesia Review Course in Chicago, Dec. 4-5, 2006, at the Fairmont Hotel.
Also presenting will be Daniel A. Haas, DDS, PhD,; James C. Phero, DMD; and Kenneth Reed, DDS.
The Anesthesia Review Course content includes dealing with the obese, pregnant and geriatric patient; infection control; patient monitoring; nitrous oxide and intravenous sedation, and medical emergency evaluation, among other topics. The course offers 16 continuing education credits. In addition, an Office Assistant's Course is being offered in conjunction with the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
According to Treasurer Mort Rosenberg, DMD, a professor at Tufts University, this is a "must do" course for all dentists. "It offers all dentists the tools they need for safe and efficient anesthesia administration in their office," said Dr. Rosenberg.
The ADSA is an association of more than 4,000 members in the United States, Canada and abroad. Membership is composed of dental anesthesiologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, general and pediatric dentists, periodontists and prosthodontists. Since 1953, the ADSA has been committed to the advancement of sedation and pain control in all areas of dentistry.
