Kodak integration progress marked by new product names, packaging, communications
As Kodak works to integrate its newly expanded dental imaging and information systems portfolio, it has also developed a new look and naming scheme for its product packaging and communications in the U.S. and Canada.
The new packaging, naming, and communications programs provide a consistent "look and feel" for products across the entire Kodak portfolio, including its dental film, digital dental photographic cameras, digital radiography systems, intraoral video cameras, dental practice management software (DPMS) and electronic services. It emphasizes the Kodak brand and "Kodak trade dress yellow" color.
At the same time, the program elements are designed to accommodate the breadth of Kodak's newly expanded dental business -- reflecting the fact that the company's portfolio has increased significantly in both number and kind of products.
"Kodak is one of the most well-recognized and respected brands in the world," said Karen Ruckman, global director of marketing, Kodak's Dental Systems. "By incorporating it into the packaging and communications across our entire line of dental products, we reinforce our commitment to dental professionals that all of our products will meet Kodak's standards for quality and support."
Ruckman added that before Kodak decided to acquire PracticeWorks Inc. and Trophy Radiologie S.A., the company evaluated a number of imaging and practice management software companies -- and that part of the evaluation process involved determining whether the companies' products were of high enough quality to meet Kodak standards.
"Kodak's reputation is built on offering quality dental products. So when we looked to expand our portfolio, product quality was critical to our decision-making process. Now, with the new packaging and communications programs completed, we're putting the Kodak name on products that are world-class, including Trophy's digital radiology systems -- which feature the highest-resolution sensors in the industry -- and PracticeWorks' broad portfolio of practice management solutions."
The new packaging has been featured in two recently announced products, the KODAK RVG 6000 Digital Radiography System and the KODAK 8000C Digital Panoramic and Cephalometric System. In addition, the former TROPHYPAN digital panoramic system has been renamed the KODAK 8000 Digital Panoramic System.
