CHICAGO--The Academy of General Dentistry and Affiliated Network Services have announced an agreement that will allow the AGD's 35,000 members to enjoy benefits from both organizations and stay up-to-date on the latest technology.
In 2006, the AGD and ANS will work together to inform general dentists about the programs and services each organization has to offer its members. ANS is the leading provider of real-time administrative transaction solutions
for dentists and other health care professionals.
"This partnership will provide the technology to keep AGD members on the leading edge of the profession," says Fred L. Horowitz, DMD, an AGD member and ANS president. "ANS systems meet both the present and future needs of the modern dental practice."
ANS supports all electronic health care transactions to save individual
members time and money in the dental office. ANSDirect interfaces with most practice management systems to provide electronic HIPAA-compliant
transaction interchange in real time.
Claims submitted are immediately acknowledged and their status is automatically updated. Real time editing and responses reduce rejections and improve cash flow. AGD members' dental office managers also will be able to submit electronic claims, receive claims status, check patient eligibility, verify insurance benefits and receive electronic remittance advices.
"The AGD is committed to providing members with new ways to help their
patients," says AGD President Bruce A. Burton, DMD, MAGD, ABGD. "We are
working hard to advance the value and excellence of general dentistry, so we encourage our membership to take advantage of this opportunity. We know that our members want to be early adopters of technology enhancements to keep their practices in the forefront."
