Are you searching for your next dental job correctly? Newspaper classifieds are so yesterday
Remember the days when you had to wait for the Sunday newspaper to scour through the classifieds to see if there were any jobs you were interested in? That’s not the case anymore.
Today job hunters can check online job boards anytime and anywhere. There’s nothing better than searching positions with just a few clicks. Multiple websites offer job boards and resume posting. In fact, it's hard not to find jobs these days. There are tons of career opportunities out there, you just have to search online.
The advantages to online job hunting
1. Many online job sites allow you to search by distance. This will narrow down your search and allow you to hone in on the jobs you desire.
2. Applying through a job board is pretty straightforward. There’s no need to fax or mail a resume. Simply just attach your resume and send.
3. Most jobs that are posted have a bio or website link about their dental practice. This helps you decide if you want to apply to a particular position or not. It's nice to research a practice before committing to an interview.
4. Being able to search jobs by your availability is a plus. Maybe you aren't looking for a full-time job and you only want to work on Tuesdays. Multiple job board sites have refined searches. You select the days you’re available to work, or you can search by full-time, part-time, or temp positions.
5. If you don't see any jobs that appeal to you, you can set up "Job Alerts,” which is common on most sites. This will allow you to be notified by email whenever new jobs that match your criteria become available.
6. Lastly, if you don’t want to apply to every job out there, then just post your resume on the job site and let the hiring dentists contact you.
Now, isn't that easier than buying that Sunday paper?
