Ask Dr. Christensen: What is a filler?

Sept. 22, 2014
Dr. Gordon Christensen shares his knowledge from years of practice, and helps dentists overcome some common obstacles.

In this video about fillers, Dr. Gordon Christensen shares examples of three teeth – a compomer filler; build-up of bonded composite; and post and core – a titanium alloy post and pure titanium pins. He also briefly discusses appropriate fees for each.

After explaining each filler and the advantages and disadvantages, he concludes, “What is filler? It’s the least destructive, it’s a compomer with fluoride in it, and it resists the impression material from being distorted as it’s pulled out.”
