American Academy of Periodontology Announces 88th Annual Meeting

May 7, 2002
Meeting will be held in New Orleans on September 25-28.

ARE YOU A DENTAL PROFESSIONAL SEEKING NEW, EXCITING, NETWORKING AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES?

If so, attend the American Academy of Periodontology's (AAP) 88th
Annual Meeting. You will learn how periodontal diseases contribute to overall health, how to keep up with baby boomers' desire to age gracefully with the help of periodontal plastic surgery procedures, the latest in dental implants, and how to keep your dental practice out of the red.

Track topics include dental implants, non-surgical therapy, periodontal medicine, perio-restorative, periodontal plastic and reconstructive surgery, periodontal therapy/pocket reduction, practice management and regeneration.

For hygienists, there is a virtual track focusing on courses from general programming, non-surgical therapy, periodontal medicine and practice management.

WHY: Significant progress is being made in the study and
treatment of oral diseases, including the link between oral health and overall health and regenerative and tissue-engineering therapies, which may someday allow periodontists to re-grow teeth. The AAP's Annual Meeting informs dental practitioners of new ways to treat periodontal diseases because in spite of
these important advancements, periodontitis is still one of the primary causes of tooth loss.
