Boost your DentistryIQ: Purchase, repair, or lease x-ray sensor?
Shawn Hall, who cofounded Sodium Dental with Jake Scheiterlein, discovered that he and his partner had a different view of how technology should be provided to dental offices than what was offered at the time. Thus they started Sodium Dental in 2011, which offers digital x-ray sensors, panos, 3-D conebeams, and more.
One of the company’s goals is to keep prices low for dentists to enter the digital x-ray market, so one option they offer is a rental service, as well as repair services. Hall notes that people today may not want to commit to another loan, so they’ll be able to spend their money elsewhere.
Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz says that when she reopened, she experienced some technical problems and wondered if her only option was to purchase new equipment. She was relieved to learn she had options with Sodium. Hall stresses that dentists who acquire something from Sodium will receive excellent IT support.
