Vident has announced the introduction of the latest advancement in all-ceramic veneering porcelain: VITA VM 9. VM 9's application is aimed specifically at veneering yttrium-stabilized zirconia ceramic frameworks that have a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) in the range of 10.5 X 10-6. Ideal substrates include VITA's In-Ceram YZ Cubes for CEREC inLab, Dentsply's CERCON, 3M's LAVA Ceram, Popp's DC Zirkkon, and Nobel Biocare's Procera AllZirkon.
This revolutionary formulation:
* is extraordinarily kind to antagonistic dentition.
* offers optimum firing stability, which preserves shades even after several firings.
* has a low firing temperature.
* produces reduced firing shrinkage.
* offers excellent shade cover with the new Base Dentines
For the quality-oriented production laboratory, the Basic layering technique consists of just two porcelain powders ¿ Base Dentine and Enamel. It is ideal in situations where the wall thicknesses are thin (between 0.5mm and 0.8mm). The more intensive shade effect of the Base Dentin allows a more liberal use of VM9 Enamel porcelains.
With more room, the laboratory may opt for a three-porcelain build-up, which includes Base Dentine, Dentine and Enamel. This technique allows for a reduced, yet more individual, application of VM9 Enamels due to the light modification characteristics created by the combination of the shade-carrying Base Dentin and the more translucent Dentine.
Of course, as with all Vita porcelain systems, modifiers abound to complete a comprehensive porcelain system. Choose from Chroma Plus, Effect Liners, multiple Enamel shades, Mamelon, Gingiva, Effect Pearl and Opal Translucent powders to create the most natural-looking restorations possible.
