ROCK HILL, South Carolina--A recent study of key opinion leaders with Dental Team Concepts' Catapult Coterie showed that more than 70% of them testing KOMET USA's CeraBurR K1SM instrument would use this product regularly.
According to Drs. Lou Graham and Mark Latta of Dental Team Concepts, who led
the study, testers' confidence in caries removal using the instrument was extremely high.
In addition, the study had 75% of those testing the instrument believing they removed the right amount of infected dentin.
Some of the testers also stated they appeared to have more control in the overall caries removal process and thought it removed the decay and left enough enamel on the healthy tooth.
"We thank Catapult and Dental Team Concepts for testing one of KOMET USA's
most innovative rotary instruments," said Warren White, COO of sales and
marketing at KOMET USA.
"The CeraBurR K1SM instrument is the newest addition to KOMET USA's CeraLine of ceramic instruments. It truly provides operators with highly efficient minimally invasive excavation and helps them to preserve healthy dentin."
About CeraBurR K1SM
The CeraBurR K1SM instrument works on soft, carious dentin with minimized reduction of sound tooth structure. The CeraBurR K1SM instrument reduces or eliminates the need for explorers and spoons for evaluating decay removal.
As the CeraBurR K1SM instrument allows for tactile feeling, it tells the operator when it is safe to stop drilling. The bur is available in four sizes (010, 014, 018 and 023), two shank types (right angle and right angle long), or as part of Kits 4547.204 or 4547.205.
It is recommended to be used at 1,500 rpm during slow-speed excavation. The CeraBurR K1SM's white working part offers the user another advantage--it stands out against the brownish shade of the carious dentin than a tungsten carbide instrument.
Made of ceramic material, the bur lasts longer, resists corrosion and is less likely to be affected by is infection and the cleaning process. Users are recommended not to use a metal brush for cleaning.
