Professional Disposables International, Inc. has announced that new Sani-Hands ALC Antimicrobial Alcohol Gel Hand Wipes have replaced Sani-Dex ALC Antimicrobial Alcohol Gel Hand Wipes.
This is a name and reorder number change only. Sani-Hands ALC has the same formulation as Sani-Dex ALC. Now part of the Sani-Hands family, the name modification allows customers to recognize and purchase the same product from consumer retail store shelves.
In addition to 135-count canisters and 100-count boxes containing individual packets, a new 220-count canister and 1,000 bulk individual packets are now available. Shipping of the newly designed bright blue-and-white Sani-Hands ALC canisters and packets began in January.
Sani-Hands ALC Antimicrobial Alcohol Gel Hand Wipes are proven effective at
killing 99.9 percent of harmful bacteria, including MRSA (Methicillin-resistant
staphylococcus aureus). They also remove soil from hands because of the
friction of the wipe.
The natural friction of the wiping action is an important function rub-in alcohol hand washes cannot achieve. Gels, foams, and rinses kill germs, but leave debris and soil behind.
Sani-Hands ALC Antimicrobial Alcohol Gel Hand Wipes are made from a non- woven cloth that is saturated with an ethyl alcohol gel solution that is
fragrance and dye-free. In addition, Sani-Hands ALC is nondrying to skin
and clinically proven to moisturize skin after repeated use.
"Proper hand hygiene in health care is the single most important means for prevention of infection transmission," said Jean Fleming, RN, MPM, CIC, Clinical
Director Infection Prevention and Education, PDI. "Even though health-care
professionals use alcohol-based rub-in type products, an independent
laboratory study shows higher microbial counts on the subjects' hands
because of the wiping action."
Sani-HandsR ALC Wipes are ideal because they kill bacteria, physically remove bacteria and soil, contain moisturizers and come in convenient quick-pull canisters or pocket packets.
