Premier Dental Products offers Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel

Premier Dental Products Company has introduced Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel—a safe and effective alternative for patient homecare compared to both 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes and remineralizing pastes.

Proper daily patient home-care routine remains a key step in the fight against dental decay, gingivitis, and sensitivity treatment. Patient compliance and ease-of use can make or break a successful treatment plan. Safety considerations with high levels of fluoride, multiple product usage, awkward finger-to-mouth applications, and taste can compromise even the best intentions of good home care. In addition, multiple oral health challenges can complicate the process. Premier Dental Products Company has introduced Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel—a safe and effective alternative for patient homecare compared to both 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes and remineralizing pastes.

Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel is formulated with stabilized stannous fluoride plus ACP technology (calcium and phosphate ions) to offer an effective home-use treatment plan for caries prevention, gingivitis, and sensitivity relief. More protection, less fluoride exposure—this patent-pending formula contains 970 ppm fluoride that utilizes calcium and phosphate ions to uniquely deliver two times greater fluoride uptake than 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes. (1) In-vitro testing shows that Enamelon reduces the solubility of enamel, preventing demineralization of the tooth surface when exposed to acids. Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel decreases enamel solubility by 56.91% compared to 18.78% with 5000 ppm fluoride pastes, providing three times greater protection against acid challenges. (1) The product also treats sensitivity by blocking the exposed tubules with a combination of stannous ions along with fluoride, calcium, and phosphate salts, a physical barrier is created that covers open dentinal tubules to prevent external stimuli from causing pain or discomfort.

The non-abrasive gel (RDA of 8) is also formulated with Ultramulsion, a patented saliva-soluble coating that moisturizes and soothes oral soft tissues to provide a pleasant patient experience. Ultramulsion helps to keep the mint flavor in the mouth longer and, therefore, the “tin flavor” associated with stannous fluoride is less likely to occur. Ultramulsion also may prohibit the attachment of plaque/biofilm. The mint flavor is enhanced with Splianthes extract—a natural herb, which encourages salivary flow and heightens flavor. This ingredient allows for the natural remineralizing properties of the patients’ saliva to perpetuate balance. Spilanthes offers a stimulating, tingling pleasure-sensation while arousing the saliva for a refreshing and revitalizing clean finish.

Studies show that caregivers and users commonly apply up to twice the amount of toothpaste recommended. Enamelon offers reduced-size orifices so patients (and parents) can easily control dispensing or dosage. Enamelon products do not contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which is commonly found in 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes and 1100–1150 ppm fluoride over-the-counter toothpastes. Enamelon does not contain any gluten or dyes and is available through authorized dealers.
