During the 2002 Labor Day weekend, a team of dentists from across the country will attempt a summit of The Grand Teton in Wyoming to raise awareness of and funds for the charity "Operation Smile." Rising more than 13,000 feet above sea level, "The Grand" is the crown of the Teton Range, and a much sought-after peak.

For the fifth consecutive year, DENTISTS CLIMB FOR A CAUSE will offer individuals of all experience levels an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of climbing one of the greatest peaks in the United States. Participants should be in good physical condition and will receive instruction and training prior to the ascent.

"It is an opportunity for dentists to change the lives of children across the globe ... because we're not just changing the children, they're changing us. And, in the process, we're changing the world," said Daniel A. Bobrow, MBA, president of the American Dental Company and executive director of DENTISTS CLIMB FOR A CAUSE.

The American Dental Company, along with dentists and other members of the dental healthcare industry, seeks the DENTISTS CLIMB FOR A CAUSE goal to donate more than $100,000 to Operation Smile in the form of pledges and donations.

Since 1982, Operation Smile, a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization, has provided dentistry, reconstructive surgery, and related health care to indigent children and young adults in developing countries and the United States. More than 55,000 children worldwide have received life-changing surgery and health care from Operation Smile volunteers.

Support and donations to DENTISTS CLIMB FOR A CAUSE may be monetary or in kind (e.g., services, ad space, announcements, articles, and volunteer work). In addition, Operation Smile desperately needs surgical and other supplies to sustain them in their efforts to serve as many needy children as possible. No contribution is considered too small.
