"Earning the ADA Seal of Acceptance on this product is another step forward in proving that you can make great products that work without using artificial ingredients or sweeteners like saccharine."
Co-founder Kate Chappell added, "As a mother of five and grandmother of five, the comment we most often get from our own family and consumers is that children brush more because they love the fun, great-tasting natural flavors."
Upon announcement of the seal, the ADA stated, "The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs' acceptance of Tom's of Maine Natural Anticavity Fluoride Toothpaste is based on its finding that the product is effective in helping to prevent and reduce tooth decay, when used as directed."
