OraMetrix, Inc., a leading provider of innovative oral healthcare technologies, has announced the addition of George K. Anderson, MD, MPH to the board of directors. Dr. Anderson is currently the company's chief executive officer.
Dr. Anderson is an experienced physician executive and preventive medicine leader. Following his medical and public health education and training, he began his professional career as an Air Force Flight Surgeon. His military service included overseas medical duty in Korea and Germany as well as aerospace medicine leadership positions in the United States. Following 30 years of military service, he transitioned to physician executive positions in the private sector.

Prior to assuming his current role, George was president and chief
executive officer of Oceania, Inc. of Redwood City, Calif. Oceania developed software solutions for physicians and other healthcare providers allowing them to quickly structure clinical notes, record medical data, analyze the data, and use the resulting information to improve patient care. Before joining Oceania, Dr. Anderson was president and chief executive officer of the Koop Foundation, where he provided program management and executive direction in such areas as health informatics, medical research, preventive medicine, health promotion, and health system planning.
During a distinguished career in the Air Force, Dr. Anderson served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Services Operations and Readiness) where he developed policies, evaluated requirements, and directed programs for the eight million beneficiaries of the Military Health Services System. Prior to that, as Commander of the Human Systems Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Dr. Anderson led the Armstrong Laboratory, the School of Aerospace Medicine, and the Human Systems Program Office. He retired from active duty in the grade of Major General.
