Come and Ride the Wave to Success in Dentistry at Yankee Dental Congress 2012
"Ride the Wave to Success in Dentistry" is the theme of the 2012 Yankee Dental Congress® (YDC), New England’s largest dental meeting, which will be held Jan. 25 through 29 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC).
YDC is the fifth largest dental meeting in the country and is sponsored by the Massachusetts Dental Society, in cooperation with the Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont dental associations. The estimated 27,000-plus dental professionals who are expected to attend the convention in Boston will not only discover YDC 2012 to be educational, fun, and informative, but also filled with entertaining events, top-notch speakers, and more than 300 educational courses from which to choose.
A major highlight of this year’s convention is the course, “Facial Transplantation Versus Conventional Reconstruction,” taught by Daniel Alam, MD, on Jan. 26. Dr. Alam was the primary microvascular surgeon for the first-ever partial face transplantation in the U.S. and is the current Head of the Section of Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Head and Neck Institute at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
That same day, join Chris Caracci from Disney Institute for “Building a Culture of Health Care Excellence.” As one of the most recognized names in professional development, Disney Institute travels the world offering engaging lectures. Thursday will also feature the Minimally Invasive Dentistry Fast Track, whose sessions provide a different speaker and topic during each hour-long session.
The Rock and Roll Dentists, Drs. David M. and Richard H. Madow, are coming to YDC 2012 straight from Las Vegas on Jan. 27. Known for The Best Seminar Ever (TBSE), they will be at Yankee for the first time. This is a must-see, high-powered presentation for the whole team.
On Jan. 28, join Eva Grayzel and Michael Kahn, DDS, for “Tongue Tied: A Story Not Silenced by Stage IV Oral Cancer.” This is a unique course on dentistry’s most deadly disease. Eva Grayzel, a late-stage oral cancer survivor at age 33, provides riveting treatment details. Dr. Kahn’s oral pathology diagnosis expertise and Eva’s engaging style enable dental providers the opportunity to “experience” oral cancer and manage it appropriately.
Patrick Kuhse, an international speaker, trainer, and consultant on business ethics and critical thinking skills, will present “Prominence to Prison: Why Smart People Do Dumb Things.” This Saturday presentation will revolve around the processes and consequences of unethical behavior, and how seemingly unimportant decisions can cause so much trouble in our lives.
Again at Yankee this year is the Dental Office Pavilion. If you are considering implementing new dental technology into your practice, visit the pavilion to see the latest in dental equipment and technology in our state-of-the-art operatories.
Great entertainment will also be a major focus of YDC 2012. On Jan. 26, experience the excitement of the YDC Beach Ball at our annual family-friendly beach party. Kick back and relax as you groove to the tunes of Papa Doo Run Run, the now legendary California band. On Jan. 27, join us in the BCEC ballroom for some laughs with Boston's Best Comics, featuring Lenny Clarke, Tony V, and Steve Sweeney.
YDC 2012 features more than 450 exhibitors, admission to select free courses, alumni events, and computerized continuing education record keeping. For more information on Yankee Dental Congress 2012, call (877) 515-9071 or visit www.yankeedental.com.
