Dr. Ira D. Koeppel and his staff raised more than $14,000 at the fourth annual White-A-Thon fundraiser on June 12 in East Setauket, N.Y. The event benefited underserved and uninsured breast cancer patients at the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y.

A number of dental manufacturers and local organizations donated supplies and services to ensure the success of this year's event. 3M™ ESPE™ Pentamix™ Mixing Units and 3M™ ESPE™ Position™ Penta™ Quick Impression Material were provided to create the custom bleaching trays, which were offered to patients at a reduced cost plus a charitable donation.

"I believe in giving back and serving the needs of the community," said Dr. Koeppel. "With everyone's help, including 3M ESPE, the event was a success. We were able to brighten the smiles of more than 70 patients who participated and make a difference in the lives of many more in our community."

Dr. Koeppel has raised more than $65,000 for breast cancer and the World Trade Center organizations. He also is actively involved with a number of children's charities, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
