Every good book has that “next chapter” that prevents you from putting it down. The characters, plot, and anticipated ending all come together to create an experience that will give you satisfaction and the desire to want more … more because your mind demands it and more because that is human nature.
As general dental practitioners, we all have stories that tell about our experiences with endodontics. For some of us, it’s a short, sweet, and to-the-point dialogue; for others, the narrative is quite adventurous and full of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Regardless, there is something to learn whether we are the storyteller or the reader.
Wouldn’t you like to know what your fellow colleagues are doing in their practice with regard to endodontics? Would their story entice you to change/improve how you approach treatment planning, diagnosis, and willingness to treat cases that you previously would not have? How can we reach out to tell our stories and learn from each other so our minds are broadened and our patients benefit from our osmosis of information?
This is the last chapter of DE’s Endo File; the story, however, is not over. Dental Economics (DE) is launching a new clinical newsletter that will focus more on how YOU, the general practitioner, can learn from your colleagues’ stories and, in turn, apply this erudition to your practice.
DE’s Breakthrough Clinical with Stacey Simmons, DDS is where the stories will be told. What’s most exciting about Breakthrough is not only will there be a focus on endodontics (and answers to all of the aforementioned questions!), but there will also be stories and discussion in the fields of orthodontics, pediatrics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral medicine, pharmacology, etc. This is your never-ending book, and you will not want to put it down. What’s more … YOU will have an opportunity to submit YOUR stories that will give us an account of your successes, challenges, and ideas. Chances are, we have all been in the same boat at one time or another …
All of us at DE are excited for this new chapter, because it means a new page with a blank slate. Endo File has been good, but Breakthrough will be even better. This newsletter will be about you, for you, and by you — a unique story indeed! Look for it starting next month!ALSO BY DR. STACEY SIMMONS |Evaluating causes for success and failure in endodontics
