Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity updates Web site
The website for Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity has a new look! The association has re-designed its Web site, located at www.ao.org, to stay on track with its growing membership and increased capabilities.
According to Howard Pranikoff, president of Alpha Omega, the website revamping was a necessary advancement that will enable the association to meet the needs of its continually growing membership, as well as to continue to promote Alpha Omega to the industry. "The new design mirrors the professionalism of the association while providing comprehensive material including news, trends and events relative to the association and industry. The site also allows for quick and easy access to Alpha Omega information and beneficial member materials," he said.
The Alpha Omega website has a modernized look and is now more user-friendly. In addition to bolder, updated graphics and ease of navigation, the Web site features a password-protected members' area that serves as a database of important documents, such as an archived library with articles created or obtained by Alpha Omega for the benefit of its membership. The members-only area also features access to upcoming events, educational seminars and webcasts that can be counted towards CE credit, as well as archived sessions.
"Because Alpha Omega is approaching its hundredth year of existence, the attractive new website design also incorporates our new Centennial celebration logo," Pranikoff added. "We are very excited about the upcoming Centennial and will be posting all related events on the site, as well as information on our workshops and annual convention, which this year is in Vancouver, Canada. We will continue our efforts to keep members informed and involved in all of Alpha Omega's activities."
The comprehensive Alpha Omega Web site also offers a section detailing membership benefits, headquarters news and information, as well as an online newsletter. There is also a special section for students and student chapters, a student "store" to purchase Alpha Omega gear and a complete directory of international officers. The site also features an expanded newsroom section with links to timely and relevant articles, as well as any pertinent Alpha Omega press releases.
Founded in Baltimore, Md., in 1907, Alpha Omega is the oldest international dental organization. It was started by a group of dental students for the purpose of fighting discrimination in dental schools. Today, with its headquarters relocated to Princeton Junction, NJ, Alpha Omega is primarily an educational and philanthropic organization with membership comprised of more than 7,000 dentists worldwide. Chapters and members are based in cities and dental schools throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel, South Africa, South America, and Australia/New Zealand. Additionally, Alpha Omega is responsible for the formation of two dental schools in Israel; The Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dentistry and the Tel Aviv University Goldschlager School of Dentistry.
