Facial anatomic template facilitates the direct treatment of cervical lesions with a long-lasting esthetic solution for margins.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio--Coltène/Whaledentannounces a new COMPONEER innovation: COMPONEER CLASS V.

Cervical defects are typically treated using adhesive bonding and composite. A new approach is to place COMPONEER CLASS V prefabricated, polymerized shells, made from highly filled, radiopaque nano-hybrid composite, based on Coltene’s Synergy D6 system.

This facial anatomic template facilitates the direct treatment of cervical lesions with a long-lasting esthetic solution to offer easy and safe application with improved marginal adaptation and shrinkage management at the margins. COMPONEER prefabricated composite shells offer the added benefits of composite adjustment and finishing at placement and repairability later, if needed.

Class V fillings are quite common in dental practices, particularly with adults. In at least one study, almost 80% of patients age 46-50 needed at least one Class V treatment. One of the main causes for Class V lesions is bruxism, which can be related to stress. The most affected teeth are the first and second premolars.
